  3. 3.  Poverty is a denial of choices and opportunities, a violation of human dignity. It means lack of basic capacity to participate effectively in society. It means not having enough to feed and clothe a family, not having a school and clinic to go to, not having the land on which to grow one’s food or a job to earn one’s living, not having access to credit.  United Nations
  4. 4.  According to a study conducted by the Centre of Research on Poverty and Income Distribution(CRPID), 63% of poor in Pakistan fall in the category of “transitory poor”.  The remaining 32” and 5” of the population that falls below the poverty line are “ chronic” and “ extremely poor”, respectively.
  5. 5.  Students are working for this cause of eliminating poverty by promoting education in school by educating custodians.  Every student is educating his/her maid and their children at home free of cost and providing them books from their pocket money.  They are educating as a group to children who pick up garbage , beggars ,work in shops etc on week ends.
