The Big Picture Prevailing winds/currents & The Trends Don’t go against themIf the prevailing wind comes from the East & you want to go East = forget itThe market is going Mobile & you develop new Apps for Desktops = forget it If all sailing boats avoid the Red Sea due to the presence of pirates = don’t go If other companies launched a similar product and fail = develop another product

Budget = Business Plan 15 years sailing around the world = budgeting & planning Creating a new company = budgeting & planning A circumnavigation is a formal statement of a goal: going round the earth, the reasons why it’s feasible: reliable boat and the plan to make it happened: financing the trip by “ad hoc” working.A company business plan is a formal statement of a set of business goals, the reasons why they are believed attainable, and the plan for reaching those goals.
