For the third time Gdansk Convention Bureau participated in Europe & Asia Event Forum 2014 in St. Petersburg (Russia). This time, Anna Gorska Gdansk Convention Bureau/Gdansk Tourist Organisation CEO, spoke about Gdansk Convention Bureau as example of regional convention bureau. Anna Gorska, also presented challenges and opportunities of convention bureau.

  3. 3. Gdansk Convention Bureau Tourist Information Promotion Department Gdańsk Convention Bureau was founded in 2005 as part of Gdansk Tourist Organisation. In 2007 we became ICCA member. As a congress bureau GCB represents tourism service providers with special interest in business tourism: hotels, travel agencies, restaurants, providers of conference technical support, transportation companies, interpreters and translators from Gdansk & Region. GDANSK TOURIST ORGANISATION
  4. 4. Our main goal is to promote Gdansk & Region as an attractive conference destination among both national and internetional meetings planners, corporates and associations. We cooperate with: Gdansk Convention Bureau is the only organisation in Pomorskie Region responsible for promoting Gdansk & Region as a congress destination.

  14. 14. There are over 140 conference venues in Gdansk & Region. Every year only 50-60 of them provide us statistics datas. Why? lack of time lack of team often venues managemnet do not understand how important statistics surveys are
  15. 15. What we do to convince venues to engage in statistics surveys project? individual meetings with venue management calls and mails with reminder about statistics promotional film showing how statistics are important
  16. 16. Business tourism fair like EIBTM (Barcelona), IMEX (Frankfurt), CONVENE (Vilnius), MIBEXPO (Moscow) and road shows are great opportunity to promote products and services among selected groups of hosted buyers. convention bureau + venue + PCO/DMC = success

What we do to convince venues, PC/DMC to participate in business tourism fair, road shows and others meetings? in the begging of every year we local tourist industry event calendar when we organize road shows we try to cover most of the costs – our Partners are expect only to cover fligh tickets and accomodation if it necessery and ….
