-On 14 July 1789, Bastille Day, the beginning of the Revolution.
-On 26 August 1789, Declaration of Man and of the Citizen, abolition of the Ancien
Regime.
-On October 1789, women's march on Versailles, demanding bread.
-1790, France was divided into departaments; Lapurdi, Nfarroa Behea and Zuberoa did
not get their own departament.
- In 1791,The National Convention began, It grew more radical over time. That period was
know as The Terror and it reached it´s peak during the Robespierre dictatorship.
-On June 1791, the king tried to flee from Paris, and he was caught in Varennes.
-On September 1791, Louis XVI was forced to sign the Constitution and the constitutional
monarchy was established.
-1791, Dominique Garat defended the Basque “foruak” when the onlylaw for all France
was proclaimed.
-1791, Olympe de Gouges wrote the Declaration of the Rights of Woman and the Female
Citizen.
-On September 1792, the French Republic was established, with the symbols that endure
to this day.
-On January 1793, Louis XVI was guillotined accused of treason.
