  2. 2. Who Are We? <ul><ul><li>We seek to move people to know Jesus as their Lord. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>We seek to move people to encourage and to be encouraged. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>We seek to move people’s hearts to share the good news of a risen savior. </li></ul></ul>
  3. 3. Where’s the Piano? <ul><ul><li>Please take note that we do have music – singing. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Where the Bible mentions music in the services and gatherings of the church, only singing is mentioned. </li></ul></ul>

Where’s the Piano? <ul><ul><li>Matthew 26:30 – “They sung a hymn” </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Ephesians 5:19 – “…addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your hearts to the Lord.” </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Colossians 3:16 – “…singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” </li></ul></ul>

Where’s the Piano? <ul><ul><li>“ The Bible doesn’t say you cannot have instruments.” </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Take note of 1 Corinthians 4:6 – “…that you may learn by us not to go beyond the things that are written… ” </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>“ The Old Testament had musical instruments.” </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>The Old Testament also had sacrifices, burning of incense and many other things we do not have. </li></ul></ul></ul>
  6. 6. Do You Believe All the Bible? <ul><ul><li>We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16-17) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>We live by the New Testament, because it is a new and better covenant. (Hebrews 8:1-7; 9:15-17) </li></ul></ul>
  7. 7. Do You Believe All the Bible? <ul><ul><li>Note Ephesians 2:15 and Colossians 2:15 </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>The Old Testament “was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.” (Romans 15:4) </li></ul></ul>
  8. 8. Why Teach Baptism? <ul><ul><li>The teachers of the Bible taught baptism: </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Peter taught baptism. (Acts 2:38; 1 Peter 3:21) </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Philip taught baptism. (Acts 8:12, 36) </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Paul taught baptism. (Acts 22:16) </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Jesus taught baptism. (John 3:3-8; Mark 16:16; Matthew 28:18,19) </li></ul></ul></ul>
  9. 9. Why Teach Baptism? <ul><ul><li>“ Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins…” (Acts 2:38) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>“ Rise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on his name.” (Acts 22:16) </li></ul></ul>
