  2. 4. Following in the Footsteps of Jesus <ul><li>For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. </li></ul><ul><li>(1 Peter 2.21, ESV) </li></ul>
  3. 5. Following in the Footsteps of Jesus <ul><li>Christ died for the ungodly. (Romans 5.6-8) </li></ul><ul><ul><li>You were on Christ’s thoughts while he prayed in the garden. (cf. – John 17) </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Example – literally, “writing under” </li></ul><ul><ul><li>The words “writing under carry the idea of tracing the pattern. </li></ul></ul>

Following in the Footsteps of Jesus <ul><li>Christ entrusted or committed himself to God. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>The word for entrusted or committed means to hand over to someone else’s keep or charge. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Christ handed himself to the Father because of his unyielding confidence in God. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>“ Not my will but…” (Matthew 26.39,42,44) </li></ul></ul>
