  2. 2. Argentina is considered acountry of immigrants.Most Argentines descend fromcolonial-era settlers and of 19thand 20thcentury immigrantsfrom Europe.
  3. 3. We all speak the samelanguage: SPANISH.But there are slightvariations in vocabulary,intonation andpronunciation.
  4. 4. We interviewed two of ourclassroom partners thatcome from Colombia inorder to find out about theirexperience of coming to liveto Argentina.
  5. 5. * SPAIN* ITALY* CHILE* BOLIVIA* COLOMBIA* PARAGUAY* CHINA* VASQUE COUNTRY
  6. 6. It was built at the end of theXIX century as ‘The ItalianSociety Union and Fraternity ofMutual Help’. It has beenenlarged but it conserves itsoriginal style.
  7. 7. This building was oficially inagurated on 1stApril,1863 as ‘The French Society of MutualHelp’. It has had many multiple uses latelywithout changing its original appearance.
  8. 8. It was opened in1920 as a place tohelp both theSpanish communityin our city and theirdescendants. It stillconserves itsoriginal style andaim.
  9. 9. It is situated inthe centre of thecity and is usedto celebrateparties carriedout by thecommunity ofVasque peoplethat live here.
  10. 10. It is the most modern of them. It was builtabout twenty years ago. It is used by a largenumber of Bolivian people who live in ourcity to practice sports and practice typicaldances.
  11. 11. Foreign community membersgather in these places to celebrateparties or eat typical dishes .But these are also cultural placesto learn typical dances, sportsand languages. .

  14. 14. All along the Americancontinent,we commemorateThe Day of CulturalDiversityon 19thApril.
