Consultation Day Event GP UNISDR Walter AmmannGeneva, 19 May 2013GRF DAVOS – CONTRIBUTION TO HFA2,SYNGERGIES• SUSTAINABILITY: Disaster risk reduction needs tobe closely connected to sustainable developmentand the more general sustainability agenda.• ACCOUNTABILITY: As the HFA is not a bindingagreement, accountability is difficult. Ways have tobe found on how to make the private sectoraccountable to avoid the externalisation of risks andthe internalisation of profits.• PARTNERSHIP: DRR requires a series ofpartnerships to be made (government, the privatesector and civil society)• EQUITY: Inequality and discrimination ofmarginalised groups, such as women, disabled orchildren play an important role in vulnerabilityreduction and resilience increase of societies.
