WHAT IS ARISE? <ul><li>Alternative Rice Intensification System Enhancement (ARISE) is a combination of 5 farming methodology that includes System of Rice Intensification (SRI), a method developed in Madagascar by Father Henrie de Laulanie in 1981. ARISE as a modern farming system, was developed by Ronnie C. Alonzo to increase the yield of the farmers and decrease their dependence on inorganic fertilizer and other chemically-based products. This system was conceptualize to address the poverty-related problems in the countryside and it is aimed at uplifting the socio-economic conditions of the farmers and the poor thru increased yields but lowered production thereby giving them an edge in the market and increasing their income potential. </li></ul>
