ARMY FLEET SUPPORT Job Title: Aircraft Requirements Job Number: Grade: Coordinator Department: TBD FLSA Status: Exempt Risk Level: Reports to: TBD Schedule: Variable Location: TBD Revision Date: Approved: Human Resources JOB DESCRIPTION BASIC FUNCTION SUMMARYManages and coordinates aircraft requirements activities at assigned location. Coordinates, assists and works with theflight departments and G3 in determining aircraft requirements at assigned location. Monitors the accuracy of thedaily, weekly, and monthly programmed student load, IP availability and number of aircraft needed to support themission. Works in conjunction with the flight department, G3 and ACLC to level out aircraft requirements at assignedlocation. Coordinates the tasks involved in processing aircraft requirements statistical data and programming aircraftrequirements to meet the student load and assists the flight departments and G3 as needed. Demonstrates continuouseffort to improve operations, streamline work processes, and works cooperatively and jointly to provide qualityseamless customer service. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESParticipates as a member of the management team in formulating and establishing organizational policies andoperating procedures for the company. Coordinates and manages aircraft requirements at assigned location.Provides leadership and coordination through effective goal setting and communication. Align goals of thesection with the department and company goals, policies and strategies. Conducts meetings to ensure that personnelare well informed of changes in programs, policies and procedures. Work with the flight department, G3 and ACLC to plan, schedule, and control all aircraft requirements at assignedlocation.Manages and coordinates aircraft requirements activities at assigned location. . Coordinates with flight andmaintenance departments as necessary to schedule safe and mission capable aircraft to meet training requirements.Monitors and maintains records of aircraft requirements, aircraft issues, rejects, aircraft returned not needed andcondition of assigned aircraft. Ensures data is input accurately into automated system. Coordinates with the nexthigher level of management on daily activities and problems as needed. Monitors aircraft rejects on a daily basis.Researches, verifies, analyzes, organizes, and compiles, processes, inputs, and records data pertaining to aircraftrequirements. Resolves all discrepancies concerning accuracy and completeness.Provides guidance, technical assistance, instruction and conducts technical training to personnel as needed.Assures all labor and materials are being used and maintained in the proper manner and are allocated to the correct joband work order number.Interprets directives, manuals, procedures, or other instructions affecting aircraft requirements. Initiates appropriateactions required by the Army’s Maintenance Management System relating to aircraft requirements and records.Implements and enforces Company policies and procedures.
Trains, develops, counsels and motivates subordinates; represents the Company at personnelrelated hearings,investigations, and bargaining talks.Implements and enforces a sound safety program and a fully compliant environmental program at assigned location.Maintains a working relationship and act as a liaison with internal and external customers in order to maintain a highlevel of cooperation and service.Conducts investigations into customer complaints relating to contractual deficiencies within assigned location.Performs root cause analysis, and recommends and implements appropriate corrective actions.Plays an active part in problem resolution, communicating plan to customers, and following up to ensure problems areresolved. Identifies and ensures customer requirements are met, and assesses and analyzes data to determine customersatisfaction.Ensures that policies are in accordance with evolving regulations, legal requirements, and industry trends.Reports all deviations from established policies or procedures, changes caused by the contractor, federal, or staterequirements, or noncompliance with regulations and changes.Ensures summaries, analyses, and other data necessary to determine the quality of the overall effort is submitted to theDepartment Manager.Evaluates technical publications concerned with logistical practices and participates in activities of related professionalorganizations to update knowledge of program developments.Evaluates reports, decisions, and results of section in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches,policies, and procedures to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization, while lowering costs. QUALIFICATION STANDARDSThe incumbent must have a high school diploma or equivalent. The incumbent must have successfully completedformal training conducted by the U.S. Army or Armed Forces equivalent, or training courses conducted by industry orcivilian institutions. A Bachelors degree in a related field and five years experience in aviation maintenance is desired. The incumbent must have the ability to coordinate the activities of his department with different departments, orsections, to ensure to the timely support of the maintenance process. He or she must be able to read, write, speak andunderstand English and be able to follow written and oral instructions. The incumbent must have strong problemsolving skills and have the ability to work with others to effect solutions to ordinary situations/problems.The incumbent must possess leadership and management skills and must be highly motivated and have a proven trackrecord demonstrating adaptability to change and the ability to respond to challenges in a changing environment. Theincumbent must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees throughout the organization. He orshe must also be able to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external customers. Theincumbent must be able to meet any Government/Company licensing/qualification requirements for the position andobtain the level of Industrial Security Clearance required by the Government.The incumbent must be knowledgeable of problem solving techniques and have knowledge of ISO 9000 QualityManagement System. The incumbent must have excellent prioritization, organization, analytical and decisionmakingskills. He or she must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Theincumbent must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS Physical Demands:This classification activity, while normally accomplished in an office environment, does have duties that require theindividual to work outside the office environment. Typical physical demands or activities include climbing, standing,
bending, stooping, pushing, kneeling, reaching and walking. May be required to lift objects whose weight normallywill not exceed 10 pounds. Special vision abilities required to perform this job are close vision, peripheral vision, colorvision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus. Work Environment:The work conditions are normally those of a standard office environment where there is little physical discomfort.During the performance of duties outside the office environment, the diversity of work conditions may range from anenvironment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subjectindividual to changes in temperature and weather. May be exposed to areas where high noise hazards prevail. May beexposed to fumes or airborne particles. May be exposed to electrical shock hazards. May work near movingmechanical parts.
