They have shown that "thinking big" is what every leader should do.Naryana Murthy represented Infosys on the global map and Steve Jobs forApple. They now stand as the youth icons this is one of the common things thatthey share.

  20. 20. 1. Engineers Both Narayana Murthy andSteve Jobs are basicallyengineers. Murthy graduated with adegree in electricalengineering from theNational Institute ofEngineering, University ofMysore in 1967 afterattending governmentschool. He received hismasters degree from IITKanpur in 1969.
  21. 21. 1. Engineers Jobs attended Cupertino Junior High School and Homestead High School in Cupertino, California, and frequented after-school lectures at the Hewlett- Packard Company . He was soon hired there and worked with Steve Wozniak as a summer

CareerIn the late 1970s, Jobs, with Appleco-founder Steve Wozniak, MikeMarkkula, and others, designed,developed, and marketed one ofthe first commercially successfullines of personal computers. Inthe early 1980s, Jobs was amongthe first to see the commercialpotential of Xerox PARCs mouse-driven graphical user interface,which led to the creation of theMacintosh
  24. 24. 3.Designers Narayan Murthy articulated, designed and implemented the Global Delivery Model which has become the foundation for the huge success in IT services outsourcing from India.  
  25. 25. 3.Designers Steve Jobs designed, developed,and marketed one of the firstcommercially successful lines ofpersonal computers, the Apple IIseries with the help of his othermembers.
  26. 26. CEO CEOs: Both Narayan Murthy and Steve Jobs served as the CEOs of their respective companies and later resigned at their own wish. Murthy served as the CEO of Infosys for 21 years and was succeeded by co-founder Nandan Nilekani in 2002.

CEO After losing a power struggle with the board of directors in 1985, Jobs resigned from Apple and founded NeXT, a computer platform development company specializing in the higher- education and business markets. Apples subsequent 1996 buyout of NeXT brought Jobs back to the company he co-founded, and he served as its CEO from 1997 until 2011. 
  28. 28. RESIGNATION What was the most common between the giants was their resignation. They resigned in the same month of the same year with a difference of four days. N R Narayana Murthy stepped down as Chairman of Infosys on Aug 19 just a day before his 65 birthday bringing the curtains down on his 30-years of illustrious innings.  
  29. 29. RESIGNATION Steve Jobs resigned as Chief Executive Officer of Apple on Aug 24 naming Tim Cook as the next CEO of Apple.
