MAXIMUS Project is a development program to promote peace, empowerment
and social inclusion of people with disabilities in South America. It is sponsored by
the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and executed by
Arcangeles Foundation.
MAXIMUS Project aims to establish a sports and social network among South
American countries as a way to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities
in the region and to consolidate sports results in the Americas Zone.
One of the objectives of Maximus is the develop of a classification Championship for
their teams involved. For that reason, the “Secretaria Nacional de Deportes-SND” in
Paraguay, one of the social partner for the project in the Region was suggested as
host of “IWRF 2017 Americas Championship”. This is the most important
event because for first time the Championship has 10 participant teams and will be
qualifying to “GIO 2018 IWRF World Championship” in Sydney-Australia.
