The Effective Persuasion Seminar 2014. 27-28 March. Singapore

  1. 1. & SINGAPORE 20 14
  2. 2. When I finished crafting the slides and the speaker notes, Dr. Sabaal, my customer, was a little sceptical. “Fred”, he said,” This isn’t how it should look. And what you are asking me to say seems simple. Too simple. I can’t convince people with this!” I assured him, ”If you keep doing the same thing, you are stuck with the same results. I’ve worked with over 2,000 individuals and teams, so I know the secret and I want to share it with you. Start the journey of being a powerful persuader. Take a deep breath and jump!” Now, Dr Sabaal (like many of us) was not the most eloquent speaker. He spoke a little too fast when he got excited. Sometimes, it was hard to make out some of his words. He also used a lot of fillers like “You know?” and “You get what I mean?”. On the big night, he nervously stood before his audience of high net-worth potential clients. Using what I had taught, he talked about his new marketing system. He told stories and he was animated when he shared. It was as if he was a different man. He was not perfect. He was better than perfect - he was compelling! The next day he called me. “Fred, I fumbled at certain points but I did it. And it was incredible.” “So, what happened?” I asked “I wasn’t perfect but I was compelling and I got US$18,000 worth of orders! And if this didn’t happen to me, I wouldn’t have believed it was possible!” One of the most powerful skills that you were never taught in school is how to create influence with others, how to be (ethically) convincing when you speak. We were never taught to be effective at persuading. Instead, we assault our customers’ ears with drones of facts and data, boring them to death. We spend long hours crafting our proposals and sales pitch, but there seems to be little to show for it. Why? Because most of us don’t know the real secret behind being a powerful and effective persuader. We were never taught the principles and the formulas that successful people know and constantly use. Until now. Now, if you could secretly grasp these this little known success systems, how much better could your career and your life be? If you could change your career or business by being highly persuasive, would you take it? Or let the opportunity slip away?
