1. Legal Collection: A Number Game
Contingency fees, cost of the Court’s stamps, cost of personal service, length of the process, steps
involved in a particular jurisdiction, documents required and type of claims, these are all factors which
creditors must consider when deciding whether collection of a given claim should be made through
the Court system.

2. QC: Fees for the Issuance of a Claim vary depending upon the value of the Claim and the legal status of
the Claimant.
NWFDL:Claims up to and including $100.00 are subject to a lower fee.Claims may be servedby registered
mail with proof of receipt. When personal service is required (registered mail is sometime refused), cost
may vary from $75 to $200.
NS: Claims up to and including $5,000.00 are subject to a lower fee. Claims may be served by registered
mail with proof of receipt. When personal service is required (registered mail is sometime refused), cost
may vary from $75 to $200.
NB: Claims up to and including $3,000.00 are subject to a lower fee. Claims may be served by registered
mail with proof of receipt. When personal service is required (registered mail is sometime refused), cost
may vary from $75 to $200.
PEI: Claims are limited to a maximum of $8,000.00 with a fee of $25 and an additional fee of $6 if the
Claim is filed by a lawyer. Claims may be served by registered mail with proof of receipt. When personal

NWT: Claims up to and including $500.00 are subject to a lower fee. Service of a Claim is admissable by
