Legal Collection: A Number Game
Contingency fees, cost of the Court’s stamps, cost of personal service, length of the process, steps
involved in a particular jurisdiction, documents required and type of claims, these are all factors which
creditors must consider when deciding whether collection of a given claim should be made through
the Court system.
CTL Law is often asked by its clients to assist in determining the qualifying factors for legal collection.
To assist our clients, we have created the following summary of the costs involved to proceed with
legal collection before the various small claim courtsof the various Canadian provincesand territories.
Do not hesitate to contact us to discuss further the costs of litigation in Canada or to ask us about our
various legal strategies. Be it for a quick legal advice, the enforcement of judgments or the creation
and implementation of a full blown legal program for large creditors, we’re always happy to help!
