Murphy Memorial Veterans Hospital, a facility associated with the University of Texas Health Science Center. Dr. Franklin Epstein also stays at the forefront of his field by maintaining memberships with numerous professional organizations, including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS). In a recent press release, the AANS announced that its online publication AANS Neurosurgeon has garnered recognition from the publishing industry as the winner in two 2014 Folio: Eddie Digital Awards categories.
  3. 3.  The publication was nominated for its November 2013 issue, titled “Neurosurgeons and the Media,” which earned acclaim for its progressive content and value for readers. AANS Neurosurgeon received awards in the B-to-B Standalone Digital Magazine - General category, and the Association / Non-Profit (B-to-B) - Standalone Digital Magazine - Less than 6 Issues category. As the nation’s largest magazine competition, the 2014 Folio competition accepted 2,800 entries, with 800 finalists from a wide range of genres. The winning entries were announced at a breakfast awards ceremony in New York City.
