They owned radio stations such as Kiss and Magic. <br />International Publishing Company<br />IPC is a consumer magazine and digital publisher in the UK. Their Portfolio is very large selling over 350 million copies each year. The IPC magazine has titles under five magazine divisions:<br />Connect, Inspire, Ignite, Southbank, TX<br />There is Marketforce, the UKs leading magazine distribution business. They own magazines such as NME and Guitar. <br />

  4. 4. Uses and Gratifications Theory<br />Uses and Gratifications theory is a popular approach to understanding mass communication. The theory tries to make people choose and decide for themselves on what magazines they would like to buy. It helps the viewers and the audiences to bring media into their lives. The basic model of the theory is that people read the media for a particular reason. However there is a lot of criticism as many people do not believe that the viewers have control of the media.<br />
