Maybe you want to signup people to receive your newsletter or havecustomers enter more information for a contest.That’s where using a Formstack form in Facebookcan help. Below we outline the best way to buildand embed a Formstack form into your Facebookfan/business page.
  4. 4. 4Formstack Primer • formstack.comhow to embed a forminto a facebook pageStep 1:To create a new tab, first log in to https://developers.facebook.com/apps — you can login with your normalFacebook username and password.Step 2:Click Create a New App at the top left. A dialog screen will pop up and you can give your “Tab” a name. The “AppNamespace” is basically the unique ID your app will be given.Note: You don’t have to worry about the hosting option for this simple setup.

Look for the Page Tab option near thebottom of the page. Clicking it will expand your options for your tab.You will want to give your tab a name and create a URL. The URL you use will be your form URL. You can findyour form URL in the Publish tab in your Formstack account. You can also add an image for your tab, but thisstep isn’t completely necessary. Ideally, you would want to add an image that would match your campaign, be ita contest, lead generation campaign, etc.

TheURL you will need is:https://www.facebook.com/dialog/pagetab?app_id=YOURID&next=YOURURLYou can find your ID and your URL in the Facebook settings you just set up. The app ID can be found at the topof your tab settings.The URL is the URL you gave when setting up the tab options, and in this case it is your Formstack form’s URL.how to embed a forminto a facebook page
  7. 7. 7Formstack Primer • formstack.comIf you have entered the above information correctly,you should see a page that looks like this:Once you add to the page, you can go to yourFacebook page and you should see a tab withyour form!Once you click on the icon for your tab, you shouldbe taken to the tab and should see your form. Userscan submit information via your form just like theycan anywhere else. Remember, you can still useFormstack’s features including confirmation emails,integrations, etc. You can direct users in campaigns(email, Twitter, etc.) to that tab by just copying andpasting the tab URL that you see in your browser’sURL address.how to embed a forminto a facebook page

It’s a great way to get more views, whichmeans more submissions, more contacts, morevolunteers and more customers.
  9. 9. 9Formstack Primer • formstack.comAdding share buttonsto your formsWhile editing your form, click on the Settings tab. In the left-hand column, you’ll see Plugins atthe bottom of the list. Click that.Next, you’ll want to go to the Utilities section and there you will see the Share Buttons option.Click Add. Once you click that, you’ll see Share Buttons add to the list of items on the left. It willturn bright yellow once it’s been added.12Here’s how it works;

Here you will see a field that allowsyou to edit the message to share. This message will be the automated content sent with the linkwhen people click on one of the share buttons within your form. You’ll want to make this clear,concise and to the point. Be sure to click Save Settings when you are finished.3Now that you have finished editing your form, you are ready to publish. Once you click thePublish tab, click on the link to make sure everything is working properly. Since you haveactivated the share buttons on your form, you should now see this at the bottom of that page.4

Once you click one of the social options, it’ll prompt you to verify your account.
