A 2018 survey of 1,000 low-income Americans over 50
investigates food perceptions, attitudes and behaviors to address
evolving health priorities. Findings show that low-income Americans
over 50 have unique purchasing priorities, motivators and� barriers to
healthy eating.
Low-income older�Americans�have unique purchasing drivers, compared to
other Americans over 50. Price is just as important as taste for the low-
income 50+ population. Availability and familiarity are also important
purchase drivers for more low-income respondents than healthfulness.�
