  6. 6. and I mean always, firstly... always use an applicator approved or licensed by the flooring manufacturer
  7. 7. this will ensure the most professional finish for your new floor
  8. 8. next, it’s all about the substrate preparation… the only alternative is failure
  9. 9. resin systems to a strong, well prepared substrate for a floor with lasting integrity apply
  10. 10. if you’re working with newly laid concrete, you’ll need to ensure all laitance is removed
  11. 11. clean, dry & free from dust, oils, the substrate must be grease & other residue…
  12. 12. any old, de-bonded, loose or flaking resin must be also be removed
  13. 13. this may require vacuum assisted shot blasting, diamond grinding, or scarification
  14. 14. but this has to be done to ensure proper adhesion between the substrate & new resin finish
  15. 15. if your substrate is damp, on or below grade, or has been newly laid you may need to apply a surface damp proof membrane
  16. 16. this will prevent the or finished floor from blistering delaminating rising moisture as a result of at a later stage
  17. 17. you will also need to apply the appropriate primer prior to the installation of the resin finish
  18. 18. long-lasting, well-bonded & durable finish again to ensure a
  19. 19. if you think your substrate might be weak or poor quality, you may have to first apply a screed layer
  20. 20. this will ensure a suitable for sound, level surface installation of resin floor finishes
