The Withlacoochee River and Surrounds!

Published on

The Withlacochee River is a slow moving lazy jungle like River which runs over 100 miles in Central Florida. This is not to be confused with the Withlacochee in North Florida which converges with the Suwanee River in the Suwanee River State Park. This park also has a Railroad Trestle which forms a Panoramic View with merging of the two rivers and civil war earthworks. Stumpknockers Restaurant on the River is old Florida style with a Nautical Nostalgic feel that matches the atmosphere of the area. Yalaha German Bakery on route exports their Breads throughout the Country and the decadent deserts are worth a trip to in and of themselves. The Historic Inverness Courthouse is on route where the Elvis movie. "Follow that Dream" was filmed.
