First, search engines crawl up the internet to see what is there. This duty is performed by a section of software, known as spiders (or Googlebot, as is the case with Google) or crawler. Spiders track links from one page to another and index everything that they find in their way. Having over 20 billion sites on the internet, it is unfeasible for a spider to daily visit a site just to see if a new page has materialized or if an existing page has been customized, occasionally crawlers don’t end up visiting your site for a month or two.
