  2. 2.  Firminy Capital Sarl manages the Firminy Equity Fund, a securitization fund, as well as four sub-funds. Firminy Capital Sarl leverages one such sub-fund, Alternative Energy Series 1, to invest in research and development of alternative energy resources. In recent news, Purdue University received a nearly $3 million grant from the Office of Naval Research to conduct multiple alternative energy projects. The studies will support the US Navy and the university’s launch of the Navy Enterprise Partnership Teaming with Universities for National Excellence (NEPTUNE) Power and Energy Research Center.
  3. 3.  The projects, slated to begin in the spring of 2016, are a continuation of more than 600 research projects that have been completed or are already taking place between the two entities. Researchers will focus on multidimensional gas chromatography with mass spectrometry and different sources of biomass-biofuel. Researchers note that learning how chemical compositions impact fuel performance is the key to driving future innovation and advancing the United States as a leader in sustainable energy.
