In the hospitality world today minute details that provide perceived value in the guest’s mind are what ultimately make a Hotel beautiful as well as practical.

  17. 17. SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT Leftover food from Banquet/Coffee shop buffets is reused when possible or served in the Ecorest. Throwing a pan full of food in the bin is always the last option. Burnt oil is collected and sold as scrap to recycling units. Promotional materials are made out of 50-75% post consumer paper . Hand Made paper bags are given for Parcels.   18. 18. ENERGY EFFICIENCY The Hot Discharged Gas Of The Compressor Is Utilized For Heating The Water At 50 Degree C. Before It Enters The Condensers. This Process Eliminates The Requirement Of Boilers. (Hot Water Production) Screw Chiller 70 Tons And 56 Tons. Capacitor Bank --- We Are Maintaining The Power Factor At 0.97 .To 0.99 Thereby Saving On Electrical Bill. Natural Light Is Used During The Day Operation. Use Of CFL Lamps To Reduce The Consumptions. All Electrical And Electronic Equipments Are Switched Off When Not In Use. Master Control Panel. Panel Except For The Burners In Live Kitchens Which Use Lpg, Png/Natural Gas Is Used In All The Kitchens At Rodas.   19. 19. WATER CONSERVATION & PRESERVATION Sewage Treatment Plant. Plant Aerators are used in all the taps to reduce consumption. (Increase of pressure and decrease of volume) Sensors are fitted to wash basin taps, urinals in public areas. a Guest Room Showers are specially designed for discharging of 10 liters. of water per minute. minute Back wash water of water filtration plant is collected back in flush tank which reduces the intake water supply. Guest Room W.C. is fitted with Cistern flushing System which flushes 6 liters of water per flush instead of 15 - 20 liters. Save our planet (s.o.p) card kept in rooms for recycle of bed linen.   20. 20. ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENTS We encourage our guest to participate in our environmental endeavors through the use of Eco button and S.0.P card among the guest. Use of Pumped natural gas as primary fuel source. Conscious effort is made to promote the use of Organic ingredients. In fact the Organic Herbs and vegetables grown in our Herb Garden were regularly used in RODAS kitchen and now we will be developing a new herb garden. Herbal toiletries are used which are colourless & with minimum fragrance. Herbal pest controlling is done. Avoid use of harmful chemicals/aerosol, cleaners. EMPLOYEE ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT Active participation of team members in the green team activities- Eco Ganesh has become an Annual Event at Rodas along with regular PUC Check up/ Eco Holi /Best Out of the Waste for the township participation Staff is encouraged to follow Environmental Best Practices not only at work, but also in day to day life. In fact the drive to create a better environment begins at their homes Interaction with visiting students from various schools and colleges and briefing them about ECOTEL practices practic We educate our suppliers by and ensure that minimal; use of non bio degradable products are used in the packing material. June.29.2009 Organised Eco Ganesha along Young Presidents organization –NGO, Chief guest Dr, Shubha Raul-Mayor of Mumbai, 300 school children from various schools made small idols by using natural silt soil from the Powai lake we give back to nature what we take from her. It’s an important lesson for the citizens on how to sustain our Mother Earth in every little way we can. On 9th September.09 on Ganesh Visarjan day the Powai lake promenade was cleaned by the RODAS Green team members
