Cable sizing part 2

  1. 1. Cable Sizing Part 2 by febriansasi at gmail dot com
  2. 2. Cable Sizing • Standard in my country using IEC standard – Metric – 50Hz
  3. 3. Pick any cable from library
  4. 4. Pick any cable from library
  5. 5. Tick Load Amp to use standard cable ampacity It means ETAP will select based on load FLA without concern with Voltage drop
  6. 6. Tick Vst Min to use calculated Voltage Start Minimum It means ETAP will select based on Voltage Drop when Starting Motor
  7. 7. Tick Short Circuit use calculated current withstand It means ETAP will select based on shortcircuit current (we will discuss later after I study about this)
  8. 8. Tick Short Circuit use calculated current withstand It means ETAP will select based on shortcircuit current (we will discuss later after I study about this)
  9. 9. Tick MF (multiplication factor) It means ETAP will select based on multiplication factor regarding with the application (we will discuss later after I study about this)
  10. 10. Tick Load Amp and Vst to combine the calculation It means ETAP will select based on FLA and Voltage start
  11. 11. Load Flow
  12. 12. Change The cable sizing calculation
  13. 13. Using Motor starting simulation to calculate Vst As we can see, even we set the Vst to 95% the result is 86.5%
  14. 14. Using Motor starting simulation to calculate Vd Max
  15. 15. Motor reactive power demand
  16. 16. Motor real power demand
  17. 17. Bus voltage
  18. 18. Motor current
  19. 19. Thank You
