During this process the kinetic energy of the water flowing in a longpipe is converted into potential energy by suddenly stopping the flow. A valve pulsed bythe hydraulic force of the water makes the hydraulic ram cycle automatically. The func-tion of the hydraulic ram can be clearly seen with unshrouded valves and transparentcylinders. The water hammer develops in a pipe loop. All components are mounted on aclearly laid out panel. The flow rate is adjusted using manual valves.
