Extension’s position on ethics and policy <ul><li>Extension holds the highest ethical and moral standards related to livestock programs </li></ul><ul><li>The approval or recommendation of unethical practices by faculty of the Texas AgriLife Extension Service is unacceptable and unprofessional. </li></ul><ul><li>Has a zero tolerance level for any employee condoning, recommending or knowingly violating projects </li></ul><ul><li>Violators shall be subject to provisions of the Texas AgriLife Extension Service </li></ul>Texas 4-H and Youth Development

Importance of reading rules <ul><li>All participants should read rules thoroughly and regularly to so there are no violations </li></ul><ul><li>Different shows can have different rules </li></ul><ul><li>Should have easy access to rules so none are broken </li></ul><ul><li>Responsibility of each 4-H exhibitor to be in compliance with all rules and ensure their livestock project meets all food quality standards. </li></ul>Texas 4-H and Youth Development

  6. 6. Ethics Policy <ul><li>Document that was developed to provide county Extension agents and Ag. Science teachers a means to inform all livestock exhibitors and their parent(s)/guardian(s) of those practices considered illegal or unethical in the care, fitting, preparation and showing of all classes of livestock. </li></ul><ul><li>This document also describes the consequences to any individual in violation of the Texas 4-H/FFA Livestock Program Ethics Policy. </li></ul>Texas 4-H and Youth Development
