It is a matter of great pleasure for all of us gathered here to discuss about the latest developments done in different areas of Bicycle & Bicycle components. </li></ul>
  3. 3. <ul><li>As we all know that Bicycle is still the major mean of transport for the common man so lot of attention is needed in this area. I am very thankful to BIS team under the leadership of Sh. S. M. Bhatia, Deputy Director General (Tech), BIS and representatives from R & D Institute who will interact with you to discuss about what they have done and achieved in this area. </li></ul>
  4. 4. <ul><li>R&D Centre has been set up with the assistance of UNDP/UNIDO. For the uplift of Small Scale Industry & has state of machinery. Engineers have been trained abroad in reputed organisations. </li></ul><ul><li>Our institute has already designed, developed & fabricated many tools, rigs, fixture, gauges & Testing Equipments & Special Purpose Machines for the Bicycle Industry to uplift the technological level as well as to enhance the production meeting requirements a per National/ International Standards. </li></ul>

We also undertake manufacturing of press tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, inspection gauges, test rigs, reconditioning and maintenance of dies tryout for cold forging and pressure die casting tools. </li></ul>
  11. 11. <ul><li>Testing and calibration </li></ul><ul><li>Testing and calibration facilities of R&D Centre are duly certified with ISO 9001-2000, BIS approved, NABL accredited. We are providing following facilities to the Bicycle & Light Engg. Industry: </li></ul><ul><li>Complete testing and evaluation for physical, chemical, metallurgical, NDT and surface finish parameter of ferrous and non-ferrous engineering components. </li></ul>
  12. 12. <ul><li>Testing and evaluation of parts, sub assemblies and complete assemblies of bicycle and sewing machines as per ISO/BIS/DIN/JIS standard specifications. </li></ul><ul><li>Calibration facilities with respect to mechanical measurements of length, angle, force, pressure and volume with tractability to national apex body of India. </li></ul><ul><li>Design development and calibration of full range of test rigs required for testing of bicycle and sewing machines manufacturing. </li></ul>
  13. 13. <ul><li>Special purpose machines </li></ul><ul><li>R & D Centre assist in planning and identification of plant and machinery and equipment for setting up turnkey projects in bicycles and sewing machines manufacturing. </li></ul><ul><li>Assists in turn key projects for semi automatic assembly lines for bicycles and sewing machine manufacturing. </li></ul><ul><li>Undertakes manufacturing of SPM’s for bicycle & sewing machine industry. </li></ul>
  14. 14. <ul><li>Mass production machines </li></ul><ul><li>Assist in exposure and undertakes regular production lots on mass production machines listed below. </li></ul><ul><li>CNC horizontal machines Centre with 36 ATC and 600 x 600 mm bed size. </li></ul><ul><li>Four station automatic transfer mechanism cold forging machines to handle, cold heading quality materials with 8.0-18 mm dia meter wire coils. </li></ul>
  15. 15. <ul><li>Medium frequency (3-35 kHz) units with induction hardening attachment. </li></ul><ul><li>80 T; cold chamber pressure die casting machines. </li></ul>
  16. 16. <ul><li>Training </li></ul><ul><li>R & D Centre is well equipped to impart basic skills and specific need base engineering and management skills training programmes through formal and informal education and training programmes. </li></ul><ul><li>Three-year regular diploma course in mechanical engineering and production engineering approved by AICTE, New Delhi. </li></ul>

We have designed, developed & manufactured Test Rigs & Testing Equipments for Bicycle/Bicycle Components. These Testing Equipments are being supplied with computer interface as per National/International Standards. </li></ul>
