  5. 5. 1. Social Media shall bemore Real-time, moreMobile Sharing, Reading, Curating on the move – Pinterest, Instapaper, BufferApp, etc. Editing and publishing on the move – Instagram, 4SQ, etc.
  6. 6. 2. Brands shall lookdifferently at Creation &Sharing
  7. 7. 3. eCommerce in India isn’tgetting Social soon! Most eCommerce companies dont know what they need from social (and how to get that), Some of them want to try too many things and are impatient, The rest do not have budgets because they believe half-heartedly in it!
  8. 8. 4. Bloggers become celebs! Bloggers would be taken far more seriously than ever before - by media and brands alike. Brands would want to invest time and money in Blogger relations. Traditional PR companies would struggle to build such relations with Bloggers!
  9. 9. 5. Social Apps with greatInterface would go viral Social+Mobile Apps that get attention would be the ones that have a great User Experience - Path, Pinterest, etc.
  10. 10. 6. Hot will get hotter! Well see more of Kolaveri Di, FlashMobs, Location and QR code based campaigns getting social media buzz. There are enough late adopters in India!
  11. 11. 7. Social/ Digital MediaProduct Launch Expect product launches to happen using Digital/ Social only. Ford Explorer did that in the US, last year. Samsung Galaxy Note, Ford Fiesta, etc.
  12. 12. 8. ORM & Sales – Thebalance Online Reputation Management and Customer Legacy shall be a key concern for large brands, sales for SMEs. Not vice-versa.
  13. 13. 9. Social Media Outsourcing More Brands would outsource Social Media initiatives to agencies because theyre competing with other brands, whove hired expertise. In-house Social Media expertise isnt a complete, proven model in India yet.
  14. 14. 10. Brands would preparethemselves for different ‘moods’ –Good, Bad, Ugly. Source:
