Testbeds for Internet of Services Experimentation Type of project: Integrated Project Project coordinator: ATOS ORIGIN Project start date: 1st June 2010 Duration: 42 months Max EC contribution: 6.7 M€ (1.34 M€ for 2 open calls) Multi-site, cloud facility for applications, services and systems research experimentation, different underlying networks (std. internet, emulated, controlled) Access, control and monitor heterogeneous and virtualised compute, storage and networking resources!

Immediate target audiences FI IoS 3D &Media IoS Sec Initial target for M9 prototype IoT Research teams that need to do ‘research by experimentation’ from ‘services’ projects (universities, industries - Service providers, ISV – research centers) Service Engineering covering aspects such as service discovery, service management and lifecycle control, composition and aggregation of services, orchestration Virtualization techniques and distributed computing. IT Platforms: management services (SLAs, LM, etc) and QoS monitoring. Middleware technologies Extended enterprises. Service Architectures beyond SOA platforms with enhanced capabilities. EAI Enterprise Application Integration NoF

Example of Embedded Experiments to prepare the Infrastructure PracticalexampleElasticity in Cloud-based web applications: The experiment tests in a comprehensive manner the whole functionality offered by BonFIRE: CRUD of VMs Complex network topologies Geographical dispersed allocation of resources, DNS, storage, etc. Measurement of the latency of BonFIRE as infrastructure provider in a wide variety of load scenarios.
