• Negative perceptions about pastoralism
• Insecure land tenure due to increasingly competing interests for
pastoralist land e.g. extractive industry, population growth, agricultural
expansion
• Extreme weather events linked to climate change leading to droughts,

• Restrictions on mobility, especially transboundary mobility
• Adverse policies and exclusion from decision making processes
