R1: Civil society and local administrations have better knowledge of the Land Law and the Participatory Rural Delimitation (DRP) R2: Legally- recognized rural communities improve land management and carry out productive initiatives R3: The effective protection of customary land rights is expanded

  6. 6. 7th Capitalization Meeting EU Land Governance Programme Capacity Development Activities 40 civil servants and 40 technicians from local NGO and associations trained on DRP and Land Law Sensitization
  7. 7. 7th Capitalization Meeting EU Land Governance Programme Lessons Learned 1) Working with National Government, at any level, is a condicio sine qua non 2) Land regularization is not enought 3) Communal land titles can hide internal inequalities (gender, ethnic, age)
  8. 8. 7th Capitalization Meeting EU Land Governance Programme Challenges 1) The legal/administrative framework needs revision 2) Community land titles are still seen as minor land title 3) No fits-for-all solution imply the adoption of different approaches 4) The Province of Huila is a more challenging context, due to higher pressure on lands, and a more complex social background
  9. 9. 7th Capitalization Meeting EU Land Governance Programme Recommendations 1) The revision of the legal/administrative framework is urgent 2) Greater involvement of the civil society in the land public debate is needed 3) Support on cadastre administration, at any level, is required
  10. 10. 7th Capitalization Meeting EU Land Governance Programme Next Steps Keep on supporting the National Government, whenever requested, on land governance issues Continue on working at community level
