  2. 2. 2 The Koronivia Joint Work on Agriculture • Substantive COP decision establishing joint SBSTA-SBI work for 3 year period ending when Paris Agreement comes in to force, to readjust and improve support for sustainable agriculture. • Uses submissions by parties, workshops and technical expert meetings to produce scientific and technological advice to be used by the COP and its SBs, the parties and also indirectly farmers on the ground. • Will produce more knowledge and methodologies for parties to take action in their respective agriculture sectors.
  3. 3. 3 First things to be done – at SBSTA 48 • Get information on the workings of a joint agenda item from the secretariat • Get information from the secretariat about foreseen provisions concerning workshops and expert meetings • Decide on format and topics for workshops and expert meetings • Agree on the concrete agenda/calendar of work for the next 3 years • Evaluate if Koronivia decision covers all important topics or if some are still missing and need to be added
