Professor Amy C. Smith discusses using the small collection at the Ure Museum of Greek Archaeology to teach students. The museum, founded in the 1920s, has developed a new interface that allows students to collect objects from Europeana and connect them to the museum's collection. This helps students organize the objects into projects and share their work, providing better learning experiences. However, the interface could be improved with more consistent metadata and information about where objects come from. The case study demonstrates how smaller collections can effectively be used for teaching when combined with digital resources.

30. With our new interface you can
• Collect objects from Europeana
• Connect them to the Ure collection
• Organise them into projects
• Share these projects with others
• Upload & work on other people’s projects
31. How does it work?
• Log into Google plus
• Create a new project on the projects page
• Drag relevant objects onto the project bar
• Etc.
32. What we need from you
• Better metadata
• More consistent provider information, e.g.
where/what is the Louvre?
• An encapsulation standard, for using
Europeana for learning

At least ...I am not alone here.
And I‘ve seen some real masterpieces.
But happy not all of their stuff is on show!
Will my grandchildren ever see all this?
