Bridging the Gap to the
Creative Industries
Is there a gap?

Yes.
Challenges

Are we really open?
What are the costs?
What are the roles?
Solutions

 Find collaborations that increase
mutual understanding
 Share a focus on the end user
 Reserve some budget ...

And finally ...

Be Bold.
Two challenges
for the Europeana

1) Making metadata richer
2) Getting more users of that

To demonstrate acceptance of Europeana having a central role in the advocacy for standardisation for sharing Cultural Heritage online, 2. To demonstrate that Europeana has significantly contributed to the improvement of quality of metadata to enhance discoverability of Cultural Heritage online, 3. To demonstrate that the Europeana Network has led to significant cost reduction in the area of creating and distributing digital Cultural Heritage, 4. To demonstrate that Europeana has made a critical change in the distribution of high quality Cultural Heritage online, particularly through networking technologies such as API’s.
