Since 2008, Ethan Draddy has worked with theBaltimore Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.As the councils chief executive officer and scoutexecutive, Mr. Draddy provides oversight of theorganizations development and growth. Currently, theBaltimore Area Council maintains a membership ofnearly 36,000 youths who regularly participate in a widevariety of council-sponsored events.
Several times each year, the council hosts the NationalYouth Leadership Training (NYLT) program. Gearedtoward youth of all ages, the six-day courseincorporates games, presentations, and other outdooradventures as tools to build confidence and character.Moreover, the NYLT program focuses on developingleadership skills that participants can take home to theirtroops and incorporate into their daily lives. To meet thisgoal, course instructors guide youths on a "Quest for theMeaning of Leadership" and challenge them to considerwhat makes a leader confident and effective.
In 2013, the Baltimore Area Council will hold severalNYLT events at Broad Creek Scout Reservation severaltimes a year. Participation is $200.
