Technology <ul><li>Technology is the wave of the future and the issue of today. </li></ul><ul><li>The state has required all school district to come up with a technology plan. </li></ul><ul><li>It is up to us as teachers to pave the way for our students future. </li></ul><ul><li>What are some resources given help us accomplish our goals. </li></ul>

What is involved in the plan? <ul><li>Improvement plans include goals to address needs of the district. </li></ul><ul><li>The district provides parameters for the Technology department to follow while developing the plan </li></ul><ul><li>The plan is reviewed by committees before it is submitted to the state. </li></ul><ul><li>A time line for when goals are to be completed. </li></ul>

Technology Goals <ul><li>Provide a well balanced curriculum to all students in order to meet individual students needs. </li></ul><ul><li>Integrating existing and emerging technologies into the curriculum. </li></ul><ul><li>Promote a school environment where students will learn and practice real world skills by using technology to communicate with others, access information, and solve problems. </li></ul>

Technology Goals Cont. <ul><li>Improve a comprehensive staff development program will on going support to insure effective use of technology. </li></ul><ul><li>Continue and improve a community partnership on the use of technology in the learning process. </li></ul><ul><li>Continue to improve technology resources to enhance and facilitate a learning environment conducive to student achievement. </li></ul>

How can you help? <ul><li>Know the goals </li></ul><ul><li>Attend staff developments and be an active participate in technology training. </li></ul><ul><li>Complete the STaR survey every year. </li></ul><ul><li>Work to integrate technology into the classroom with the district goals in mind. </li></ul>

E-rate <ul><li>Universal Service Fund(E-rate) is a resource available to help our school and the district be able to achieve it’s technology goals </li></ul><ul><li>E-rate provides discounts for school to use in order to make sure that the school is able to provide a good technology education. </li></ul><ul><li>At this time our district is not involved in the E-rate program but more information for the E-rate program can be found at: </li></ul>
