I’ve collected some green tips that save energy and water that aid the green cause. The Cool Stuff -Add an item of mass, a brick or a weighted plastic bottle to the tank of your toilet. by doing so, you displace the water, thus reducing the amount of water being used each time you flush! -Both warm and hot water get clothes cleaned effectively and equally, use warm water to save on energy. -Use low-flow shower heads and taking shorter showers is one of the best things one can do to conserve water. -To further save, you can insulate windows using thin inexpensive but efficient film. -Don’t throw away your old cell phones!!! Recycle them, you’re doing your environment a great deed. -If you keep a garden, try not to water when it’s windy, the water evaporates much quicker. -Also try to water plants during the morning and evening to reduce evaporation. -Collect water in vast quantities, place a BIG bucket out side when it rains. -Instead of dumping the water in your fish tank, use it to water your plants. -Be sure to check for water leaks and fix them!! -Save water by brushing your teeth and showering at the same time!! -If you have left over ice, toss it in some grass or give a plant a cool gift. -Use energy star light bulbs to save energy. -If you use lights outdoors, convert to solar lights , your now saving tons of energy.
