We live in the Crimea and we would like to tell you about its best
sights. The Crimea is a wondrous land . Open to the merry sun and
blue sea, it attracts those who are inspired by nature and history
The God is said to smile kindly when having created the Crimean
peninsula with its endless steppes, beautiful Crimean
mountains, long pebble beaches, rocky cliffs and magnificent
vineyards and gardens with the splendour of the subtropical
Yalta's Sea Promenade is the main street of Yalta and a nice
150 years ago a post road from Sevastopol to Yalta was built.
A ‘place Yalta’ originated from Polikurovskiy Hill. After that along the
post road the houses appeared. The road received its name
‘The Post Street’, and in the second half of XIX century it was named
Aleksandrovskyi Road. It was a narrow and noisy street.
In the Soviet time it was named The Lenin’s Embankment. It was
planted with plants and palm trees. When it was closed for cars, it
became a wide boulevard.
Now the street is wide and beautiful and it is a very popular place
among the residents of the city and tourists.
It is the site of several hotels, restaurants, cafes. There is a movie
theater, a concert hall, a drama theatre, some museums, fountains and
The Alupka palace is an architectural splendour of the beginning
of the 19th century where the Oriental and Western architectural
styles meet and make the unified harmony of lines, proportions and
colour with surrounding nature.
