PROFILE OF HIS ROYAL MAJESTY OBA GABRIEL AYODELE ADEJUWON, FCTI.,
ADETILA ILUFEMILOYE 1, THE ONISAN OF ISAN KINGDOM, EKITI STATE, NIGERIA
HRM Oba Gabriel Ayodele Adejuwon, FCTI, is one of the distinguished Obas in Ekiti State. As a matter of
fact, the Onisan Kingdom, has been one of the most revered stools in the earlier Pelupelu Principal
Kingdoms in Ekiti State before the advent of colonial rule till this modern day Obaship in Ekiti State.
Oba Adejuwon is presently the 10th Onisan of Isan Kingdom having been enthroned on the 13th of
January, 2017 from the Adejuwon family of Ilomi ruling house, Isan Ekiti.
Oba Adejuwon was born on the 15th of November, 1970 in Isan Ekiti. He attended St Paul’s Anglican
Primary School, Isan Ekiti from 1976 to 1982. He had his secondary education at the Isan Secondary
School, Isan -Ekiti from 1982 to 1987/88, where he obtained his West African School Certificate (WASC)
in flying colours. He gained admission into the then Ondo State Polytechnic, now Rufus Giwa Polytechnic
in 1990 where he read Business Administration and Management at both his Ordinary and Higher
National Diploma in 1993 and 1997 respectively.
Having joined the services of the Federal Inland Revenue Service as a Tax Officer, Oba Gabriel Ayodele
Adejuwon proceeded to Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba, Ondo State in 1999 to advance his higher
education where he bagged his Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management 2000, and
subsequently, Master of Business Administration (MBA) Finance in 2002.
Having fortified himself with necessary skill and knowledge in the business of Tax Administration, Oba
Gabriel Ayodele Adejuwon is in demand and has become the cynosure of all eyes within and outside the
Tax industry. He belongs to some reputable professional bodies in Nigeria amongst which are Fellow of
the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (FCTI), Associate of Certified Board of Administrators
(ACBA) and Associate member of Institute of Debts Recovery of Nigeria.
Oba Gabriel Ayodele Adejuwon has an impressive career which lasted for more than two decades with
the Federal Inland Revenue Service, during which he did not only practice the act of taxation, auditing
and financial management, he equally exhibited high professionalism, patriotism, sincerity, hard work
and fear of God which has today endeared him to many.
Oba Adejuwon, a diligent and philanthropic individual, studied for his diploma Certificate in Redeemed
Christian Church of God School of Discipleship and Post graduate Diploma in Theology. He was ordained

as a Deacon and Assistant Pastor of RCCG in 2002 and 2014 respectively before his enthronement as the
Onisan of Isan Kingdom.
In the words of Edward Albee, the Philosopher ‘Sometimes it is necessary to go a long distance out of
the way in order to come back short distance correctly.’ The humble beginning in the life of Oba
Adejuwon was only necessary in order to prepare him for the great task of selfless service to God and
humanity, and in particular, the good people of Iran Ekiti and Ekiti State at large.
And as the Holy Bible says "When the righteous is on the throne, the people rejoice.’’ The people under
his able leadership have continued to rejoice as he has not left no stone unturned in his quest to bring
21st century traditional leadership that will uplift humanity to his people.
Known for his strong advocacy for justice irrespective of gender, religion status and affluence, his
people-oriented leadership style has attracted several government presence and development into his
community, while further contributing his quotas to the community and national development.
Oba Adejuwon has empowered more than sixty (60) youths in the last three 3 years in various trades.
Many youths of Isan Ekiti have also gainfully secured employment at the Local, State, Federal and
private organisations. Many women and men have also been empowered with working tools and
equipment.
Oba Adejuwon has organized several educational symposia in Isan Secondary School during which
educational materials such as Text Books, Exercise books, White Boards, etc. were distributed. Cash gifts
have also been given to Best Performing Students and Teachers in the past and in recent years. His
generous leadership trait was also extended to the widows in his kingdom and many of them have been
equally empowered with working tools.
It will interest readers to know that this eminent leader who is characterized by resourcefulness,
honesty, accountability and fear of God has risen to prominence among traditional rulers in Ekiti State
who always delegate him on important issues concerning the State and Traditional Rulers Council. He
has served as Chairman Education committee and Treasurer of the Ekiti State Traditional Council.
It is in recognition of his contribution to promotion of culture, peace and unity, community development
and propagating the word of God Almighty that have earned him many awards of Excellence in Ekiti and
Nigeria at Large.
These awards include; the Award of excellence towards development of qualitative education in Ekiti
State, by Edulink Concept, 2008; Award of Excellence by the Nigeria Medical Laboratory Science Student
