Edward Reicin supports many local cultural and arts initiatives and has a deep appreciation for writers and books, especially the writings of Pulitzer Prize winner Saul Bellow.
  2. 2.  A longtime resident of Chicago, Canadian-born Bellow was a prominent fixture in the Chicago literary scene. His characters mostly tended to be earthy Midwesterners, often based on the author’s observation of Chicago’s brash con men, sharp talking salesmen, and other assorted wheeler-dealers.
  3. 3.  Some of Saul Bellow’s most recognized novels include The Adventures of Augie March, Mr. Sammler’s Planet, Seize the Day, and Henderson the Rain King. Bellow received multiple literary awards during his lifetime, earning his last accolade, the National Medal of Arts, in 1988. He died April 5, 2005 at the age of 89.
