Ecofys proposes to develop a policy menu to strengthen the ambition to mitigate greenhouse gases that integrates best practice policies with options for international financial and technical support. The policy menu would enable countries to identify, sign up for and receive support to implement proven policies and concepts in high impact areas. Christian Ellermann, Senior Consultant International Climate Policies, presented the approach at a side event during the UNFCCC intersessional in Bonn on 7 June 2014.

Only a few have policy implementation linked to support > Outreach: – Meetings with relevant actors (initiatives, governments and experts) – Find a convener, e.g. UN Secretary General – A side event or a full-day workshop at the SG Climate Summit in September 2014 > Additional research needs: – Develop the menu for few front-runner thematic areas – Analyze future institutional set-up, especially regarding the question on linkage to the UNFCCC 07/06/2014 Christian Ellermann10
