• NPAD-2021/10187:DIGITAL SUPPORT: Guidelines for training the trainers to support seniors towards making daily life more easy in digital
world,
The first project was organized under the project period 09/2020-08/2021 and the second one starts in September 2021 and ends in December
2023. Both projects are coordinated by the Summer University of Jyväskylä.
Aim of the projects is to strengthen and develop co-operation between Nordic countries and Baltic region on life-long learning for seniors and to
learn and share ideas of digital skills teaching for seniors in different countries. During the first project participants learnt to know institutions who
were taking part this project and the education on digital competencies, which they provide for seniors. Also the presentations in meetings covered
also topics like digitalization in different Nordic and Baltic countries as well continuos learning in general. Ideas and knowledge was shared to each
other and the good practices adapted to own work at the local level.
During the second project project partners will create an online portal, where they present their good practices of teaching seniors on digital
competencies. This free and easy accessible portail is addressed to all actors in the Nordics and Baltic, who work in the field of adult (senior)
education.

7. The Nordplus Adult project How seniors learn digital skills in the Nordics and Baltic? has facilitated and organised multiple international meetings a
seminars, with hosting duties being handled by each participating country. The meetings have included e.g. expert presentations and discussions o
different practices and methods of supporting and advancing digital competencies in senior citizens. The shared practices have lead to participatin
countries adopting and applying them in their own context such as with different peer tutoring programs.
Information and material from the project has also been disseminated within and by the organizing institutions, and throughout the project the
meeting practices were developed with continuous evaluation as well as gathering and disseminating feedback from the participants.
Moving the meetings online in reaction to the Covid19 pandemic was somewhat of a challenge but also helped the meetings gain even more
participants outside the immediate Nordplus network. The material produced by the project has been collected to a web portal shared within the
project.
The work on the project has built a network of cooperation and partnership between the participating countries that continues to be utilized and
developed with a future project. In addition to this the project has connected and shared its work with participants outside the project.
The cooperation will continue in a new Nordplus Adult project NPAD-2021/10187: DIGITAL SUPPORT: Guidelines for training the trainers to suppo
seniors towards making daily life more easy in digital world. The project start at September 2021 and continues till the end of year 2023
8. The aim of this development project is to build on the ongoing network project: ”How seniors learn digital
skills in the Nordics and Baltic?” and as the result of this project to publish a collection of good practices in
training and learning of digital competencies, especially for seniors, bearing in mind that senior is a diverse
target group both concerning cohort and period when introduced to digital
environments.
In addition, the group is per se very multi-faceted. All participating organizations will describe the best
practices from their field of work and in a collaborative way work together with other partners. As a final
result, these best practices will be published in a platform, which will be user-friendly, interactive, easy to
access, attractive in the interface, and apply self-motivation and self-regulated learning.
The suggested guidelines will serve as benchmarks. The aim is that the practices are transferable to all
organizations, which provide training or organize help for seniors on digital competencies.
