2. What’s this all about?
After the huge success of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare on
Microsoft Windows, Torn Banner Studios announced it would be
released for game consoles.
In December the multiplayer-focused action game was released
for Xbox. If you haven’t already played the game, here’s our
verdict on the game.
3. Setting and Storyline
Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is set in a medieval world and is
based in a fictional nation called Agatha. A civil war has broken
out in the region, creating two opposite factions called Mason
Order and Knights of Agatha.
The game interestingly does not have any storyline, not even a
preface. Some players may not enjoy the lack of gameplay
direction, we found it refreshing.
4. Gameplay and Modes
The game is multiplayer-only with first person perspective. You
can play for either of the two factions and team up with other
players to fight against the opposite group.
The gameplay focuses on combat with the fierce style of the
medieval era. There are seven key multiplayer game modes to
play in including: the Team Objective mode places you along
with others on a map with some defined objectives, which you
have to accomplish within a time limit.
5. Characters and Classes
As well as lacking a story this game does not have any distinct
characters either. However, you do have the option to choose
from four different character classes: Knight, Archer, Vanguard
and Man-at-Arms. Each class has its respective characteristics,
abilities and weaponry.
6. Graphics
Although there is not much to explore in Chivalry: Medieval
Warfare, the environments are beautifully designed.
There are many different areas to play in including Arena, Hillside,
Frigid, Argon’s Wall, Citadel, Dark Forest and many more. Some of
these environments are exclusive for a specific game mode,
while others are shared by multiple modes.
7. Verdict
Playing Chivalry: Medieval Warfare on a game console,
compared to the PC version, is an exciting experience that
gamers should not miss out on.
