A children's story about making breakfast fun.

1. Nic hated oatmeal. It was tasteless and gloppy and mushy. Nic’s mother made him oatmeal for breakfast. She said it was good for him and it was easy to make. So Nic ate oatmeal. Everyday.

2. Monday.

3. Tuesday.

4. Wednesday.

5. Thursday.

6. Friday.

7. Saturday.

8. Sunday.

9. She made it again when Nic’s uncle George visited. Nic stared dully at his oatmeal. What is wrong, Nic?” asked Nic’s uncle?

10. “Oatmeal is yucky” said Nic. “Yucky? Do you really think so?” asked Uncle George. “Yes,” said Nic sadly.

11. “But oatmeal makes the best art project!” replied Uncle George. He grabbed a knife, spices, fruit, and maple syrup. He stirred syrup into the oatmeal.

12. He cut up the fruit and began to arrange it. He sprinkled spices and stepped back. It was a face!

13. Nic looked and shouted “I have a better idea!” He took some of the extra fruit slices. He put them on very carefully.

14. “Nice car!” said Uncle George. Nic and Uncle George sat and ate their fun and tasty breakfast. Nic knew he would never hate oatmeal again.
