Direcção Regional de Educação do Centro / Código – 403921Hake Stew (Portuguese recipe)Ingredients for 6 people:“slices” of hake enough for 6 people (depends on the size ...)3 onions, sliced3 cloves garlic, minced1 tablespoon margarine0.5 dl olive oil4 bay leaves6 tablespoons of tomato paste1 glass of white wineHalf glass of waterSaltPepperPreparation:1. season the fish with salt (not much);2. in a pan put the olive oil and heat the margarine. Once hot, add the onion, garlic andbay leaves. Let it cook for just a little bit;3. add the tomato paste, white wine and water.Let it cook for 2 minutes;4. place the slices of hake into the pan and add a little pepper.Cover and let them cookfor 5 minutes.Turn the slices upside down and let them cook another 5 minutes;Serve with boiled potatoes or mashed potatoes and boiled vegetables.
