Target groups
Recipients are representatives of one of the following distinct groups (and have
received different questions)
• e-Infrastructures (includes (scientific) data repositories, data archives, digital
archives of national museums, data/computing centres, grid infrastructure, HPC
centers, NREN’s)
• Research Institutions/Infrastructures (of national relevance)
• Funding bodies
• Universities and institutes of higher education (MS degree granting)

•Designed by a multi disciplinary team with members from Italy, Austria, Belgium, France,
Germany
•Different target groups received different sets of questions
•Questions visible depend on the target group
•Questionnaires tailored to the different target groups: * consisting of 1 core module (with
general questions on EOSC) and 4 thematic modules * number of questions depending on
target group and answers given by respondents (minimum of 15 questions)
•Expected time to answer is 15 – 45 minutes.
•Privacy policy and consent form
•detailed information about privacy of data is given before the start of the survey
•to be acknowledged (click) by respondent
•allows for internal (project EOSC-Pillar) usage and cross project usage

• Results are pseudonymised (personal data is decoupled from responses)
• Only EOSC-Pillar partner Universität Wien has has access and safeguards the key connecting
individual responses to participants
• Respondents can be contacted for follow-up questions proposal, if they have agreed to
• Proposal: The concept of the survey and the questionnaire were developed by EOSC-Pillar but will
be shared and can be used, once finalized, under a CC license by other projects or initiatives.
• First user of the information is the Landscape WG to the Executive Board
• Analysis of the existing national infrastructures, activities and initiatives, funding models and
national strategies and policies
