  6. 6. Roles of the bank as a link1. Financing: 3. Capacity building On-lending to SACCOS, Coops,  Financial literacy for agriculturalists VSLAs. Currently with a facility  Internship and onjob training from EIB 4. Use of own infrastructure: Subsidised lending of funds from linkage banking, mobile banking, donors or other agencies – use of phones. Support was currently administering a Youth obtained from USAID to acquire a fund from Government mobile van to extend banking services to unreached.2. Enable funding through partial donor guarantees, especially for agric related business Partial guarantees from Danida, Abi Trust, USAID 6

Lessons learnt Banks are an important link of extending support to other FIs, SMEs and Coops, given their capacity, regulation and expertise. Linkage should be developed with the aim of making the FIs sustainable. Service subject to market prices, focus on infrastructure and capacity buildinig 7
