What is ECIA• Aim: Increasing role creative industries as a driver of the European economy• Via policy learning• Open platform with policymakers and business support practitioners (28 partners and 12 countries). This initiative is financed under the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP) which aims to encourage the competitiveness of European enterprises.

Role of the Amsterdam Economic Board (previous AIM)• Coordinator of a consortium of 6 cities• Administratory role for the Policy Learning Platform• Contact point for the European Commission’s DG Enterprise• ECIA Website• Produce end documents: – Roadmap for a future policy for the CI – Policy recommendations for the EC This initiative is financed under the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP) which aims to encourage the competitiveness of European enterprises.

What’s in it for you• To share and gain knowledge on the Creative Industries (CI) in Europe: what’s working and what’s not?• Constant up to date information from the ECIA website about relecant events and publications• Website as a portal that provides access to EU platforms and relevant CI networks• Companies: participation in European networks, EU stimulation of small- and middle sized companies, advice from ‘how to grow’ portal.
