Licking County, Ohio is one of the first counties in America to embrace key recommendations of the 2009 Institute of Medicine Report on the Prevention of Mental, Emotional, and Behavioral Disorders. The County has formed a comprehensive coalition that has multiple projects underway with exquisite evidence. One of those strategies is the PAX Good Behavior Game. The report is from one of the school districts that participated in the training of 75 teachers in 2010, and they report extraordinary outcomes in a short time. You must hear this. And, they have had almost no referrals for special education in primary grades using the Game.
This video also has a presentation about bringing universal parenting supports for all families, using the acclaimed Triple P system of parenting supports. These supports are being embedded in multiple venues. The presentation has a report from the local evaluation showing changes so far.
