It is also instrumental in sustaining the process of economic development. Every country tries to achieve economic development for prosperity and better life to people. So, contribution of both men and women is essential in economic activities for healthy nation building. WOMEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP Women entrepreneurship is the process of creating new venture by women through risk-taking, innovating and managing for rewards. It refers to women in an independent business. WOMEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP - DEFINITIONS Government of India – “A woman entrepreneur is defined as an enterprise owned and controlled by a woman having a minimum financial interest of 51 percent of the capital and giving at least 51 percent of the employment generated in the enterprise to women.”

SECOND CATEGORY Established in cities and towns Having sufficient education. Undertaking women services-kinder gardern,creches ,beauty parlours,etc. THIRD CATEGORY Illiterate Women's. Financially weak. Involved in family business like agriculture, diary, handlooms, horticulture, etc.

CONCLUSION The desire for economic independence and to contribute to family income is the key to the emergence of women entrepreneurs. The rising consciousness through education and training among women has facilitated the growth of women entrepreneurs.
